MONDO CHELLOVECK TO RELEASE LONG AWAITED FIRST ALBUM.
Warren Peace has released details of the soon to be released Debut album from MONDO CHELLOVECK. Speaking to the BIG HAIRCUTS today, Warren has spoken about the new album and given early details of songs to be included. The album is titled "ULTIMO MONDO CANNIBAL" and is to have between 10 to 20 tracks on. Warren says "It's about time to release the first album! we have been thrashing out tracklistings and ideas for too long now!" Warren said the album would feature Vocal duties from Wolfy Warploy, with maybe some input from Polish John, but that is still sketchy. "There might even be a few tracks with me doing the Vocals yet" said Warren. Details of tracks to be included & covers will follow shortly.

DEMOLITION IN PROGRESS REVEAL DETAILS OF NEW ALBUM!!!
The BIG HAIRCUTS website can reveal details of the NEW album by veteran punkers DEMOLITION IN PROGRESS. The album has been taking shape since the Dirty Dipsticks have returned to studio work in early 2006. Since the return of NOBBY HENDRIX to the Northeast things have sped up on the recording front and the band feel it's time to get some new shit out there!! The album will be a mixture of Studio recorded material and Live tracks. Track listing is tentative but an early list comprises of:- STUDIO TRACKS:- WHERE ARE YOU NOW?, I WONDER WHERE YOU'VE GONE?, FUDD, THE GRAVEROBBER, THERE'S A GIRL, HELP ME: PART ONE, I WANNA BE YOUR DOG & SMELLY FARTS. TORTURED SOULS REUNION @ BLITZKRIEG LIVE CONCERT!!
Last night at The Carling Academy Newcastle, BLITZKRIEG played a blistering hometown gig in front of a packed roomful of local fans! They delivered a cracking one and a half hour set in which all members showcased their individual skills and also as a top metal band. But for a few members of the group and audience the gig had a separate and special meaning. BLITZKRIEG had delivered their final song, the ever amazing crowd pleaser :-BLITZKRIEG (covered by some band called Metallica???) The crowd yelled for more and BLITZKRIEG promptly delivered by coming back for 2 encores. As Bassist Paul Brewis calmed the crowd down he explained that the next track would be "Tortured Souls" and it was dedicated to lads who had been in the band Tortured Souls way back in 1990. As a strange twist of events ALL the previous members of Tortured Souls were at the very gig and it was the first time that they had been together in 17 years!!! So Wolfy Warploy, Paul Brewis, Crow, Phil Brewis & Warren Peace, where finally reunited!

DEMOLITION IN PROGRESS LIVE @ POPPO BABB 31ST AUGUST 2007.
DEMOLITION IN PROGRESS returned to live performing last night @ POPPO BABB STUDIOS. This was the first time the band had played in a live environment since 20th December 1986!! D.I.P played a 25 min set made up of the old classics:- PREGNANT CITY, ALL THE WAY, DO IT YOURSELF, WHERE ARE YOU NOW, WARS NO FUN, HELP ME & FUDD. This marks the first live recording for any band @ the Babb. Studio techs have been working for a while now on how to make the studio "live". So DEMOLITION IN PROGRESS promise to be back playing live very soon! Book your tickets early to avoid disappointment!!!!!

THE BAYLIFFS have started laying down the Vocals to their first release entitled 1982. Studio techs say THE BAYLIFFS are still capturing the spirit of the 80's Hardcore Revolution!

2 NEW WOLFY WARPLOY VIDEOS ON YOU TUBE!
POPPO BABB STUDIOS was busy indeed last night! First up was WOLFY WARPLOY who recorded another faster version of his now famous take on the CAPTAIN PUGWASH theme tune. This version was recorded on video for YOU TUBE as well as the new track by AUDIO RIOT called "ONE BY ONE". The guitar part was filmed for YOU TUBE and links to these videos will be on here very soon. ONE BY ONE sees WOLFY reprise an old lyric that became famous in the days of ORCUS. It has been updated for this new track.
MONDO CHELLOVECK made a surprise visit to the BABB as THE CRAYONS could not make it! They recorded a brand new track in the shape of "I BELIEVE IT BECAUSE IT'S ABSURD" WARREN PEACE states the song has been just written 2 hours before!
WOLFY also lent the vocal duties to 2 RAMONES covers:- "I DON'T CARE" & "53rd & 3rd". These were recorded by MONDO CHELLOVECK but will probably be released under a different guise!

MONDO CHELLOVECK : THE CRAYONS : THE BAYLIFFS :- RELEASES OUT SOON!!
POPPO BABB RECORDS will be busy soon as there is to be 3 new cd's out soon. MONDO CHELLOVECK Bassist John Berlin has revealed that a new CD of Demo recordings will be out soon and the band are now working on Lyrics for their back catalogue and plan to update a lot of songs with lyrics over the next couple of months. THE CRAYONS are equally busy and say they are to release a CD in the near future. THE BAYLIFFS are pounding out their own brand of Hardcore Punk and say they are pretty close to putting out their first release!

Warren Peace will also be making a new appearance on YOU TUBE soon with some video footage of CARSEY and himself in a short film they made when they both went to see THE MISFITS in 1999 & 2003. One from the archives there!

NOBBY HENDRIX FEATURES ON THE NEW DAMNED LIVE CD !!!!!
DEMOLITION IN PROGRESS Guitarist NOBBY HENDRIX can be heard swearing in the background of new live CD by veteran punksmiths THE DAMNED! NOBBY has always been an avid fan of THE DAMMED from the very start and he went to see them at their recent gig at London's infamous 100 CLUB. THE DAMMED recorded the show for a live CD release and of course NOBBY couldn't control himself as usual and can be heard barking expletives at the band!! Details of where the outbursts are on the CD to follow with even possible sound clips!! NOBBY also met THE DAMNED after the gig and got stuff signed and that! RESULT!!

OLD ARTISTS AND NEW COME TOGETHER @ POPPO BABB STUDIOS.
Things have been somewhat quiet at the start of the year here at POPPO BABB STUDIOS, mainly due to the lack of artists recording at the Studio during the cold months of January/February. But the warmer weather has brought them all out of the woodwork indeed. First off AUDIO RIOT have recorded a new track at POPPO BABB, their first FULL track of the year "BEST OF ME". AUDIO RIOT should be releasing details of their plans for 2007 very soon! We will keep you posted. Also POPPO BABB has took delivery of a new MULTI TRACK STUDIO PROCESSOR, this should feature prominently in the sound of POPPO BABB in the future. MONDO CHELLOVECK returned to the Studio after a two month hiatus, they recorded the new track "THE DAY DONKEY KONG WENT WRONG". Warren Peace said the new effects make a great difference to the overall sound, MONDO CHELLOVECK plan to return to the studio full time soon.
Also 2 new bands have signed to POPPO BABB RECORDS, firstly THE BAYLIFFS , who describe themselves as a straight up punk band with no gimmicks! & THE THERMAL SYNDICATE who tend to lean more to the dance/industrial/experimental side of things. THE BAYLIFFS were the first to record are track at POPPO BABB, THE THERMAL SYNDICATE are set to visit POPPO BABB for the first time next week.

WOLFY WARPLOY RETURNS TO POPPO BABB IN 2007.
Last night saw the return of WOLFY WARPLOY to POPPO BABB STUDIOS for the first time in 2007. WOLFY recorded an assortment of tracks including his unique rendition of the CAPTAIN PUGWASH theme (METAL VERSION). WOLFY also found time to record a new as yet untitled AUDIO RIOT demo & provide Vocal duties to THE CRAYONS track :- "DIXIE'S FUNERAL". The Crayons have been busy in POPPO BABB STUDIOS over the Festive season, recording and mixing songs for their new album released next year. As die-hard fans of The Crayons know they don't have a drummer but favor a Drum Machine. Singer KING DONOVAN explained " We started out using real drummers and found them all to be total wankers, so we ditched the drummer and brought in the drum machine!"
Despite all that and in a bizarre twist, MONDO CHELLOVECK Drummer WARREN PEACE was sitting in on the recording of new track "PENSACOLA" and was asked to put a drum track down and duly obliged! I wonder if WARREN knows about The Crayons dismal views on drummers? We think ........maybe not!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND POPPO NEW YEAR!
Here at the Big Haircuts we would like to thank our loyal fans for supporting us and all the best for 2007. A year that should see new releases by:- AUDIO RIOT, CAPTAIN PUNKWASH, THE CRAYONS, DEMOLITION IN PROGRESS & MONDO CHELLOVECK. 2007 is shaping up to be the most productive year yet at BIG HAIRCUTS CENTRAL. POPPO BABB STUDIOS continues it's refit with the Electrical work due to be undertaken next year and further sound/draft proofing already taking place.
Also the tie in with website:- YOU TUBE is proving very popular and expect more Videos to surface on there all the time. MONDO CHELLOVECK plan to record a Video to an unnamed track next year for inclusion on YOU TUBE.

Tonight saw DEMOLITION IN PROGRESS Guitarist NOBBY HENDRIX enter for a rare session at POPPO BABB STUDIOS. NOBBY laid down his Guitar tracks for the DEMOLITION IN PROGRESS track "FUDD" originally recorded in 1985! Photos and Video were taken, and the Video of NOBBY playing another D.I.P favorite "JAMAICA FAREWELL" can be seen HERE. WOLFY WARPLOY & WARREN PEACE now have to be drafted in to finish off the recording of "FUDD" which will feature on the first NEW release by DEMOLITION IN PROGRESS in over 20 YEARS!!!!!!!

WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING TO OUR HIT COUNTER??!!??
Here at THE BIG HAIRCUTS we are becoming increasingly frustrated with our hit counter on our Home Page. Since the site started in 2003 we have used the same counter and you would have expected those hits to stay on from the start! Oh No! Which donkey is in charge of these counters is not apparent, but they keep feeling the need to reset it to 0 and subsequently all our hits are lost! At the BIG HAIRCUTS we are sure that a combined tally of our hits is up to 10,000 not the paltry 7 you see here today! So thank you Go-Stats for your continued ballsing up and as soon as we can get a new company to run our counter you are going to be kicked straight to the proverbial kerb.... TWATS!

WOLFY WARPLOY & "STAR"
Last night saw AUDIO RIOT frontman WOLFY WARPLOY come down to POPPO BABB STUDIOS to record an early demo for a track entitled "STAR". The track is a powerful and personal one from WOLFY and he stated that it would probably NOT find itself on a AUDIO RIOT release!
WOLFY is still unsure when and where the track will turn up, but MONDO CELLOVECK guitarist WARREN PEACE sat in on the recording of the Keyboards track to the song and was blown away!
WOLFY has been in the process if writing STAR for 3 years now and says he is very close to having all the pieces in place to finally finish the track.

AUDIO RIOT, MONDO CHELLOVECK & CAPTAIN PUNKWASH @ POPPO BABB.
Last Friday night saw a busy night of recording by 3 of Poppo Babbs recording artists. In what was a full and productive night, saw AUDIO RIOT, who previously had laid down a rough Demo to a track entitled :- "WAKE UP CALL" returning to record a version proper of the track. WAKE UP CALL, which deals with the age old dilemma of the 9 to 5 routine will feature on the band's upcoming debut CD "FORBIDDEN FRUIT" out on POPPO BABB later this year. AUDIO RIOT have set up their own website and have exclusive downloads of their tracks on there for your listening pleasure. You can view the AUDIO RIOT website HERE!. It's regularly updated by the band themselves and is expanding all the time.
MONDO CHELLOVECK joined AUDIO RIOT in the studio and set about recording the Vocals to a track earmarked for inclusion on their self-titled debut CD, out later this year. The track "DONKEY JACKET" was quickly ran through and early Vocals were added by MONDO vocalist:- SPB 1. The band also have revealed that there should be around 16 tracks on the new CD and will also include some "Strange instrumental noodlings". MONDO CHELLOVECK also recorded a new track for the CD called "NET MY HOPES AND CRUSH MY DREAMS" Which according to Guitarist Warren Peace is "Probably our finest song to date!".
Finally those lovable layabouts CAPTAIN PUNKWASH recorded their take on the classic Captain Pugwash Theme tune! After recoding the 36 second long anthem the band promptly disappeared! Leaving the POPPO BABB studio Tec heads somewhat bemused!!!???!!! Mad Bastards!!

MONDO CHELLOVECK have completed their "101 SONG CHALLENGE" they set themselves recently. The band have completed work on the songs and are just re-mixing the final 15 or so tracks to put out on their latest as of yet untitled new DEMO CD. The band are currently sifting through their catalogue for their favorite songs and will be re-recording the tracks for the first release proper out on POPPO BABB later this year. Also the MONDO CHELLOVECK homepage will receive a re-vamp and the first band profiles will be appearing soon as well as lyrics and various stuff Chelloveckian.

MONDO CHELLOVECK IN THE 101 SONGS CHALLENGE.
MONDO CHELLOVECK have revealed more details of forthcoming releases. The band have decided to record the demos to 101 songs before picking the tracks for their first release on POPPO BABB RECORDS later in the year. The band say they were more into recording new stuff than actually recording tracks for the first release but have decided to start recording in earnest when their songs number 100! "We had to draw a line somewhere, then concentrate on recording tracks for real!!" Sometime you can be too creative we think!!
MONDO CHELLOVECK say that the first release will probably be a full album with 15 or so tracks on and as they have over 90 songs they should not be too far away from starting it now!

CAPTAIN PUNKWASH MAKE THEIR LONG AWAITED POPPO BABB DEBUT
Yesterday saw the POPPO BABB debut of CAPTAIN PUNKWASH the new and latest band to sign to POPPO BABB RECORDS. The band arrived armed with a fistful of Punk cover versions to get through and ended up laying down 3 tracks for their untitled debut CD out on POPPO BABB probably early next year.
CAPTAIN PUNKWASH recorded their versions of Daniel Powter's "Had a bad day", Men at Work's "Down Under" & the Velvet Underground's "Waiting for the Man". The boys promise to be back in the studio soon and continue their Aural Assault on all your favorite choons from yester year & beyond!!!

THE NEWS PAGE RETURNS AT LAST!!
Hi and welcome to the return of the NEWS page here at the Big Haircuts! So what's been happening since we last spoke? Well the site has started to take on it's new role as an information site to the artists and music coming out of the POPPO BABB STUDIOS stable. POPPO BABB STUDIOS has recently moved to new premises and there will be full details and pictures of the upgraded POPPO BABB soon.
On the releases front today sees the release of the new CD from MONDO CHELLOVECK, it's entitled "RUST" and details of this release can be found on the MONDO CHELLOVECK homepage. We hope to have a new interview with MONDO CHELLOVECK on their new CD posted soon.
AUDIO RIOT are still busy with finishing their first release "FORBIDDEN FRUIT" they are hopeful that the CD will be out this year. We hope to have a new interview with AUDIO RIOT soon.

The main news this year APART from the launch of the site in 27th March 2003, was the reunion of DEMOLITION IN PROGRESS. This year saw a conscious effort to get the Masters of Mayhem back from the dead!. Even by August 2003 the whereabouts of Bassist WOLFY WARPLOY were still a mystery to Guitarist NOBBY HENDRIX and Drummer WARREN PEACE. Finally in November WOLFY was located and talks finally got away on the impending reunion!
