explanation of the BIG HAIRCUTS website and a behind the scenes history sort of thing, to let
you know exactly what the site is all about and the goals and aspirations we are
trying to achieve here at BIG HAIRCUTS CENTRAL!

EARLY ORIGINS
The BIG HAIRCUTS site was originally set up in December 2002 by Warren Peace. Warren is a musician who has always tried to confuse!..... Let me clarify..... When the site first started, it was to solely showcase the work of that seminal UK 80's band:- THE BIG HAIRCUTS! Never heard of 'em! I hear you cry, well you be right because they never existed! Warren had been the drummer in North East Punk Band :- DEMOLITION IN PROGRESS from 1984-1986 and during that time had wrote songs with the other band members :- NOBBY HENDRIX (Guitar & Vocals) & WOLFY WARPLOY (Bass & Vocals). A lot of the songs were recorded but a few had titles that were just too ridiculous to include in the bands work, so they were shelved and forgotten about. After DEMOLITION IN PROGRESS split in early 1987, Warren went back to these titles and wrote them down in a collected volume under the guise of THE BIG HAIRCUTS. There they remained untouched for 12 years. In mid 2002 Warren began his journey on the Information Super-highway and wanted to start a website. Unsure of the subject matter he returned to world of THE BIG HAIRCUTS and after a few months Digital tomfoolery started THE BIG HAIRCUTS website.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS
The earliest version of the website showcased the works of the imaginary BIG HAIRCUTS and the trials and tribulations they had as a band releasing the worst records of all time. Of course THE BIG HAIRCUTS could not see that they were so bad they blamed everything but themselves in their meteoritic fall to the gutter! The site included covers of the albums and descriptions of the records and interviews, everything you would expect to see from a website dedicated to "proper" band. This version of the site enjoyed moderate success on the web and had a few fans from round the world.

NOT ONLY, BUT ALSO
As well as the BIG HAIRCUTS stuff there was a lot crazy stuff that was from Warren's past, like childhood stories, old pictures & collected artifacts from Warren's early recording career with DEMOLITION IN PROGRESS, THE WAY, ORCUS & TORTURED SOULS. The website niche had been found and this Warren thought was to be the way THE BIG HAIRCUTS site was to stay. But there were changes on the horizon.........

IM PROGRESSING WITH MY DEMOLITION
In late 2003 an unexpected turn in the saga happened! After 16 years DEMOLITION IN PROGRESS reformed!! This altered the shape of the site as attentions turned to the reformed trio. The site was changing from a straight forward misleading bunch of well.. lies!! to an information service about DEMOLITION IN PROGRESS and the 3 band members. This was to be the turning point of the BIG HAIRCUTS and will lead to site you see today. But wait I hear you cry, what ever happened to the ORIGINAL BIG HAIRCUTS site? Fear not my little brothers as it can still be accessed today, by going to the left hand list and selecting Big Haircuts, or if you are VERY lazy click HERE to be transported there.
It's only a demo!!!!
POPPO BABB IS COMING
In mid 2004 Warren Peace was looking to record an album of songs he had been messing about with. He sourced a local recording studio called "DAZ JARVO STUDIOS" and recorded his first bunch of Demos with his new band MONDO CHELLOVECK. This was to lead to Warren setting up his own studio POPPO BABB STUDIOS in October 2005.
PLAY FOR TODAY
So here we are at the site you are viewing today! The main part of the site or the "serious" part is dedicated to bringing you up to date info on POPPO BABB STUDIOS and all the artists and songs recorded there. DEMOLITION IN PROGRESS still have their own website available to view on the site, also MONDO CHELLOVECK' s own site is included within THE BIG HAIRCUTS. Wolfy Warploy as well as recording with DEMOLITION IN PROGRESS has also formed a new band called AUDIO RIOT and their site can be viewed from the BIG HAIRCUTS. AUDIO RIOT have included downloads of thier songs as well as pictures to view.
THE FUTURE........
So what next for THE BIG HAIRCUTS? Well the site will focus more on POPPO BABB and the artists and songs. There will be more music downloads and he site should be improving all the time! OOOOHHH YOU LUCKY LUCKY BASTARDS!!!!
